Professor Mi-kyoung Lee of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering Selected as POSCO Science Fellow

Professor Mi-kyoung Lee of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Incheon National University has been selected as a 17th-Class POSCO Science Fellow.

The POSCO Science Fellowship is a flagship program of the POSCO TJ Park Foundation, designed to support emerging Korean scientists who will lead the nation’s future growth in science and technology. Selected fellows receive 100 million KRW in research funding over two years.

This year, 440 applicants from 75 universities nationwide competed for selection, marking a highly competitive ratio of more than 14:1. Among them, Professor Lee was selected in the Metals & Materials category for her proposed research project, “Development of Metal Oxide Photoelectrode Materials for Optimized Electron–Photon Reactions.”

Her research aims to precisely control the photo-electronic responses of metal oxides to develop sustainable next-generation energy technologies that convert carbon dioxide into high-value hydrocarbon compounds.
