Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) announced that it held the 2026 Freshman UniBirthday event for three days from February 11 to 13 in order to help newly admitted students adapt to the new university environment and begin a stable university life. The event provided various student support programs and information, including senior lectures and preliminary college orientation programs, with the aim of strengthening freshmen’s sense of belonging and pride in the university.
Various student-related departments across the university collaborated for the event, including the Career Development Center, Office of Student Affairs, Office of International Affairs, Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, Public Relations Division, Consumer Cooperative, International Exchange Office, ROTC, and the Inclusive Society Project Group. Through this collaboration, freshmen were introduced to essential curricular and extracurricular programs and participated in engagement events that provided useful information about university life.

The event featured a cheerleading performance, special lectures by CEO Gi-seong Kwon and alumna Gyu-ri Jung, an introduction to campus life, and educational sessions on drug prevention, smoking cessation, responsible drinking, and human rights. Lunch and freshman welcome kits were also provided, with the kit contents selected directly by current students.
In the afternoon, colleges and departments (majors) hosted preliminary orientation programs, offering major introductions, conversations with professors, senior mentoring sessions, and campus tours. Through these diverse programs, approximately 2,000 freshmen were provided with a meaningful opportunity to begin their university life.
Jae-han Bae, Acting President of the Student Council (Department of Taxation and Accounting), who participated in the event, said, “Although excitement and nervousness may coexist in this unfamiliar environment, the Student Council will always stand with you so that every beginning you make here becomes a meaningful experience. We encourage you to challenge yourselves freely on campus, grow, and create your own unique university life.”
Young-soo Lee, Vice President for Student and Career Affairs at Incheon National University, stated, “We have prepared a variety of student support programs to help freshmen naturally adapt to the new university environment and develop pride and a sense of belonging as members of the campus community.” He added, “We will continue to implement diverse programs to systematically support all aspects of students’ university life.”
